Dr. Griffin Durias is a native of the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Before receiving his optometry degree, he served 5 years in the US Army as an Infantryman, leading multiple soldiers as a Team Leader through 2 separate deployments in Afghanistan. After being honorably discharged in 2014, he finished his prerequisite courses at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then completed both his Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where he graduated Cum Laude. He is also the recipient of the 2018 VSP/AAOF Practice Excellence Scholarship.
He is a board certified optometrist who completed extensive training in various settings, treating all primary eye conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and more. He has experience in corporate optometry and served the Machesney Park, Aurora, Schaumburg, and Geneva communities for years before opening a practice with his wife.
Dr. Durias is excited about creating a practice culture that is centered on patients feeling valued, welcomed, and heard. He loves to educate patients on not only what the problem is, but to also spend some extra time to make sure they understand how their ocular health and general health are connected.
In his free time, Dr. Durias loves woodworking and spending time with his family. His love for woodworking started as a way to save some money, and blossomed into a full blown obsession. He also enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, and more recently, gardening. He met his wife during optometry school, where she was two years ahead of him. They started dating and were married in 2018 in Raleigh, NC. They currently reside in South Elgin with their two boys, two dogs, and two cats. He is excited to bring his experience and expertise to the residents of Geneva and the surrounding areas, where he hopes to create long lasting relationships that go beyond the exam room.

Dr. Durias spent her childhood in many different places, moving from California to Pennsylvania, then down south to Mississippi and finally settling in North Carolina. She received her bachelors of science from North Carolina State University and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. The year spent in residency created a passion in treating patients as a whole, looking at all systems of the body to best treat the eyes and maintain health/prevent disease.
Dr. Durias is a mom of two, Everett and Emmett, and spends her free time caring for them. When she gets a moment to herself she spends most of that time working out.
